Manta celebrates the resounding success of the Ironman! | Toldi and Palacio won the ninth edition. A weekend full of adrenaline, excitement, and sportsmanship flooded #Manta, the city where the ninth edition of the Ironman 70.3 was held with great success. Athletes from all over the world gathered to push their limits and compete in one of the most demanding sporting events in the national capital of sports.

The winner of the men’s pro category was the Brazilian Fernando Toldi, whose victory allows him to qualify for the world championship to be held in Marbella, Spain, in November 2025. The second place went to the Ecuadorian Gabriel Terán, and the third place was taken by the Chilean Martín Baeza.

In the women’s pro category, the first place was claimed by the Argentine Romina Palacio, with the Americans Hannah Sakaluk and Kerry Girona taking second and third place, respectively.

Marciana Valdivieso, mayor of Manta, was present at the start of the competition and among the audience, supporting the athletes along the route. She highlighted the teamwork that was developed to successfully carry out this competition, involving municipal staff, the National Police, the Armed Forces, volunteers, and others. “We can’t just see the Ironman as a triathlon competition; it’s more than that. It’s Manta’s opportunity to showcase ourselves as the great hosts we are. Likewise, it’s a very important economic reactivation,” she emphasized.
